  11. Key Caps - getting screen dumps - (Finder 5.3, or 5.5 and System 3.2 or 4.1) - do the dump in the Finder 
  12. (desktop) with no window open.  To get a dump of the characters shown when only the OPTION key is down, press the OPTION key, then hold down your mouse button making sure the cursor is not over the active window.  ( Place the pointer over the title bar of the Key Caps window.)  While still holding down the mouse button press COMMAND-SHIFT-3 
  13. (simultaneously) then press the OPTION key again before letting go of the mouse button.  To get a dump of the characters displayed with the SHIFT-OPTION use the same procedure as above except  instead of the two times you must press the OPTION key , you substitute SHIFT-OPTION.
